This 2-day workshop explored context for the commercialization of intellectual property in Higher Education and how to take the first steps in disseminating a research/teaching portfolio.
This courseaimed to provide participants with a greater understanding of:
- Managing intellectual property
- Anticipating client needs
- Selecting and approaching potential clients
- Developing a robust project proposal
- Pitching a proposal
- Planning for effective delivery of the project
The sessions included interactive exercises and display a variety of tools that can be utilized by academics, students and support staff.
This course was ideal for Academics, Research students and University support staff who provide commercial services (internally or externally).
Andrew commercial career covers 32 years where he has worked in various management functions within the Construction (1986-1989), Manufacturing (1989-2001) and Higher Education (2001-2018) sectors.
He holds an MBA and an MA in Education, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Andrew has previously held Business Development roles at Birmingham City University, University of Worcester and Aston University and started
Blueberry Training in 2004 to supply enterprise and knowledge exchange training to the Higher Education sector and is author of Academic Enterprise: a Field Guide (ISBN9780956457240).
He is a Teaching Fellow in Marketing at Aston Business School and a Teaching Fellow in Strategy at Warwick Business School.
