The Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) is a membership organisation that was established in 2008 in order to represent the interests of Open Access (OA) publishers globally in all scientific, technical and scholarly disciplines. This mission is carried out through exchanging information, setting standards, advancing models, advocacy, education, and the promotion of innovation. Activities are overseen by the Board of Directors who are each elected by OASPA’s Members for a 3 year term.

Every year OASPA holds a conference which brings together policymakers, funders, library information specialists and key figures in the open access publishing community. This event provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and sharing of information, and for highlighting best practices and innovation within the industry. The OASPA also holds a series of webinars and twitter chats on key topics in OA publishing which are made available to the wider community.
