In honour of Open Research Week, Knowledge E is collaborating with the Forum for Open Research in MENA (F.O.R.M.) for its second community development activity — a free webinar on prevention practices against predatory publishers in Open Science.
The 1.5-hour workshop, titled ‘The Rise of the Predators: How to Identify and Avoid Predatory Journals and Conferences’, will be held on the 15th of March at 11am GST. Our Head of Research Development and Dissemination, Dr Emily Choynowski, will discuss ways to identify predatory publishers and conference organisers, and offer tips to avoid them. Participants will learn about how the Open Access movement gave rise to predatory practices, and how these predatory publishers can harm individual researchers and threaten the wider academic community. They will also gain valuable insights into how predatory publishers operate and the different types of predatory conference practices.
Spaces are limited for the webinar. To save your spot, register now.
