The KnE team is looking forward to speaking at the 10th biannual Gulf Comparative Education Society (GCES) Symposium! Bringing together leading scholars, thinkers, and educators, the three-day event will be held under the theme ‘Towards Sustainable Education: Global Goals and Local Contexts’. On November 2, our Chief Academic Officer, Dr Emily Choynowksi, will discuss how the Forum for Open Research in MENA (F.O.R.M.), an independent initiative of the Knowledge E Foundation, is supporting the region’s tertiary education and research communities. On November 3, our Head of Digital Learning, Isaac Tabor, will present ‘The Need for Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in OER’.

About GCES Symposium

Formed in 2008, GCES is an academic society that was created to enable comparative and professional discourse on educational issues in the Arabian/Gulf region. This year’s symposium aims to provide space for scholars to reflect on how education in the Gulf can become more sustainable by 2030. The conference will cover key themes and topics, including equity and inclusion, privatisation, education reform, and more.
