This course is ideal for professors and teaching faculty engaged in Teacher Education at the higher education level.

Course Details

Teacher education is recognized as a vital component in economic competition and growth (Tang, 2015). Teachers not only influence the behaviors of their students; they also promote the success of a nation’s long-term success by molding the young minds that will lead and contribute to society in the future. Thus, the teacher’s role and the teacher’s education are truly significant. To meet the evolving needs of dynamic global societies, teacher education must foster teachers to become the innovators and researchers in education, laying the educational foundation for continuous learning and the practical change in the workplace (Brouwer & Korthagen, 2005). In this introductory course, participants will explore and practice the core competencies needed to be an effective teacher, trainer, and role model for students and trainees.
