Course Details
Knowledge E will run a tailor-made Professional Development Course for Directors of Egyptian Scientific Research Institutions in collaboration with the Leiden University Knowledge Exchange Centre (LURIS) and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank. The course will be held at Leiden University which was founded in 1575 making it the oldest in The Netherlands and LURIS is one of Europe’s leading centres for knowledge and technology transfer. The Egyptian government recently passed an ‘Innovation law’ setting out a framework that facilitates knowledge and technology transfer activity at Egyptian research institutions whose directors will see international best practices first hand on this course led by Rob Mayfield, LURIS Director and experienced international entrepreneur and VC investor in various industries. The Egyptian delegates will also receive a personalised tour of the Leiden BioScience Park by Lissa Culbertson Boxy. The learning objectives include enabling Egypt’s research centre activity in the field of patenting, industry relations & licencing and creating start-up culture.
