As a signatory to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Publishers Compact, we, at Knowledge E, firmly believe that the Open Science movement is crucial for sociocultural and economic development. For this reason, we are thrilled to be attending the 3rd United Nations Open Science Conference virtually. The conference is being held under the theme ‘Accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals, Democratizing the Record of Science’. Policymakers, intergovernmental organisations, researchers, scholars, librarians, and civil society will engage in a dialogue about the opportunities and challenges of practicing Open Science. We look forward to hearing about ground-breaking Open Access initiatives and learning more about the present and future of Open Science practices for the SDGs.
About the United Nations Open Science Conference
The United Nations Open Science Conference is being organised by the Dag Hammarskjöld Library of the United Nations Department of Global Communications in collaboration with the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Division of Sustainable Development Goals, and UNESCO’s Division of Science Policy and Capacity-Building. Panel discussions and keynote presentations of the 3rd United Nations Open Science Conference will focus on three streams: equity in Open Scholarship, reforming scientific publishing, and strengthening the science-policy-society interface.
