DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 21 April 2020 – We are pleased to announce that, with mutual interest in collaboration, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and Knowledge E have signed a memorandum of understanding to promote joint educational programs and to further raise the importance of teaching excellence in pharmacy degree programs across the region.

About ACPE
ACPE, established in 1932, is the sole recognised national agency in the United States of America for accreditation of professional degree programs in pharmacy and providers of continuing pharmacy education. The mission of ACPE is to assure and advance excellence in education for the profession of pharmacy. ACPE sets standards for the education of pharmacists to prepare them for the delivery of pharmacist-provided patient care. ACPE’s International Services Program (ISP) was established in February 2011 and the mission of ISP is to promote, assure and advance the quality of pharmacy education internationally to improve patient care through safe and effective medication use. ISP was created to strengthen ACPE’s ability to assist international stakeholders who seek guidance related to quality assurance and advancement of pharmacy education.
ISP offers evaluation, certification and pre-certification of professional degree programs internationally and has certified pharmacy degree programs in Saudi Arabia, India, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Indonesia. Applications for certification and pre-certification from programs in United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Mauritius, Jordan, and Egypt are in process. ACPE collaborates with other organisations to provide faculty development workshops and training to advance the competencies of members of the pharmacy workforce.
