QS has released its Global MBA Rankings for 2021

QS released the 2021 edition of its Global MBA Rankings which ranked 258 programs this year from 40 study destinations.

Institutions from USA dominate the top 10 positions with six representatives this year. The other four universities within the top 10 spots are from France, UK, and Spain. Stanford Graduate School of Business from USA tops the list with an overall score of 94.5.

From the UAE, the American University in Dubai (AUD) made the list, scoring 93.8 on diversity. AUD is the only UAE university that that was included in this year’s rankings. From Egypt, we have the American University in Cairo ranking 84th with a score of 81.3 on return of investment and 73.1 on diversity. Turkey is also represented in the 2021 rankings with Sabanci University scoring 62 in diversity. The Suliman S. Olayan School of Business from Lebanon placed 79th with a high score of 90 on return on investment and 59.9 score on diversity.

It appears that Middle Eastern institutions rank higher in class & faculty diversity, however the QS Global MBA rankings favour employability over the other indicators.

QS ranking methods

The Global MBA Rankings highlight the best MBA programs across the world.

The five key indicators the programs are ranked on were employability (40%), entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes (15%), return on investment (20%), thought leadership (15%), and class & faculty diversity (10%).

The most significant rating for the QS Global MBA Rankings is employability, which is broken up into two parts: QS Global Employer Survey (35%) and employment rate (5%). The survey is said to be the backbone of the rankings, where employers are asked to select the school they prefer to hire from. Nearly 40,000 global employers are asked to take the survey each year.
