KnE Foundation Welcomes AESIS Network to Its Growing Mission
We are delighted to share a major milestone in the journey of the Knowledge E Foundation — the AESIS Network is now officially part of our growing family of initiatives.
As of 11th July 2025, AESIS has transitioned to new ownership under the Knowledge E Foundation, continuing its vital mission of advancing the societal impact of science and connecting professionals across research, policy, and evaluation.
The Knowledge E Foundation is a community interest corporation dedicated to building a more open, inclusive, and sustainable future. We fund and support a wide range of initiatives — from improving access to education, to empowering researchers and promoting Open Science. The AESIS Network’s mission is deeply aligned with our own, and we’re excited to continue and expand its work under our care.
With this new chapter, we aim to deepen AESIS’s global reach and create new opportunities to enhance the impact of science in society. We extend our deepest thanks to Anika Duut van Goor, the previous owner of AESIS, for her leadership and unwavering commitment over the years.
Meet the New Leadership
Lisette van Kessel will serve as the new Director of AESIS. Lisette brings over 20 years of experience in marketing and events, and currently serves as Head of Marketing at Knowledge E. Her passion for community, inclusion, and strategic communication will guide AESIS into this exciting next phase. Lisette can be reached at l.vankessel@knowledgee.com.
Overseeing this initiative is Kamran Robert Kardan, Chairman of the Knowledge E Foundation and Founder of Knowledge E. Kamran has always been driven by a deep commitment to education, research, and community development. Through this acquisition, he aims to amplify AESIS’s global impact and ensure its work continues to thrive.
