Are you looking to develop your career in academic publishing? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Copyeditor to join our publishing division.
This is a part-time (20h/week) role, based remotely.

The role
This position focuses on supporting the operational publishing process and copyediting English-language content, ensuring all published material meets the highest academic and linguistic standards. You will work closely with the Editorial Manager and production teams across the publishing workflow, from editing the manuscript to coordinating with the production team.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Copyediting: Ensuring English-language journal articles, books and conference papers are free from errors in syntax, grammar, and spelling, and fully aligned with the company’s in-house style
- Referencing: Uploading references into the reference formatting system and ensuring adherence to established citation styles
- Reference quality control: Identifying and flagging missing or incomplete data in references, particularly for non-English citations
- Production support: Incorporating author and client corrections accurately and coordinating with production providers to implement changes
- Conference content: Writing clear and accurate conference synopses based on client-provided information and conference proceedings
- Publishing workflow: Supporting all stages of the publishing lifecycle, from manuscript submission through to indexing and final publication
- Quality assurance: Ensuring all published outputs maintain a high standard of English language quality and consistency

Minimum job qualifications
- Exceptional level of written English language
- Great attention to detail
- Highly organised
- Knowledge of different referencing styles and how to use them, e.g., APA, Chicago Manual, Bluebook, Harvard Style Guide, Vancouver Style Guide, etc.
- Ownership of given responsibilities and persistence
- Familiarity with academic writing styles across disciplines
