Since the number of questionable publications is increasing, it’s important for publishers and Editors-in-Chief to enhance the credibility and visibility of their journal. We advise you to follow the below ten tips to achieve this goal:
- Mention the Abstracting & Indexing services that your journal is covered by it and try to get your journal indexed in the main databases (international & regional)
- Declare clearly your peer-review and editorial workflow policies
- Mention clearly information about your Article Processing Charges (APC) and the submission fees (if available), and Mention clearly when you are going to charge the authors
- Display your contact details clearly in your website (add professional email address, Tel, Fax)
- Display clearly the editorial board members along with (affiliations, ORCID)
- If your journal is Open Access, display an Open Access statement in your website
- Display your publication ethics and publication malpractice statement in your website
- Display clearly your copyright & licenses information
- If you have long-term archiving agreement, display your archiving policy
- Join recognized publishing industry and trade association such as Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA)
