A Recap of the Knowledge E Foundation’s Impact in 2022

The Knowledge E Foundation is dedicated to supporting initiatives that offer quality education, promote sustainability, and empower more inclusive communities. In 2022, the foundation actively supported a multitude of causes. Join us as we look back on the many inspiring and incredible projects we contributed to during that year!

Empowering Generations with United World Schools

We’re proud to have had a continued partnership with United World Schools (UWS) in 2022, after having previously partnered with them in 2021. United World Schools is a global education charity whose aim is to build schools in remote areas. UWS is currently operating in Cambodia, Nepal, and Myanmar to offer quality education to rural communities. The Knowledge E Foundation’s partnership with UWS has supported two impactful initiatives so far. The Girls’ Education initiative has provided numerous students with access to quality education, while the more recent Nepal Fellowship initiative has offered training to community members, empowering them to inspire young minds, and offering them a career that satisfies their aspirations. This locally-led collaborative educational support model is proof that collective efforts can indeed foster lasting change.

Sustainable and Eco-friendly Initiatives

Promoting a sustainable future is one of the core values of the KnE Foundation. In 2022, we took our first step towards recycling electronic devices and reducing e-waste by donating several Knowledge E laptops to Fasila who ensures that a tree is planted for every device donated. We hope that more organisations will follow suit so we can all contribute to reducing e-waste which is highly damaging to the environment.

In addition, our Knowledge E colleagues went mangrove planting as a team building activity last year. With help and guidance of the Companies for Good team, we planted around 20 mangrove shrubs in Ajman’s Al Zorah Nature Reserve. Mangroves play a crucial role in coastal ecosystems and act as natural barriers against erosion, protecting coastal communities from the impact of storms and rising sea levels. Witnessing the impact of our collective efforts was truly fulfilling, especially knowing that our actions were directly benefiting the environment and local ecosystems.

Community Engagement with CréACtion

Our partnership with CréACtions is also one that we are quite fond of. The work that CréACtions is doing really goes a long way in championing an inclusive community and integrating people from different backgrounds into the culture of the country they reside in. The community volunteer organisation has facilitated a beautiful and meaningful cross-cultural exchange and created bonds between people that might have otherwise never crossed paths. Through cooking classes, discussions, plays, and other activities, it is helping to create a community that thrives on helping one another.

Inspiring Young Minds with Spring of Hope

We’re so pleased to have contributed to the Spring of Hope, a fantastic organisation dedicated to providing educational support to underprivileged children. Collaborating with Spring of Hope has contributed to bringing their dreams and aspirations one step closer to reality. By offering quality education to children in remote areas, we have empowered them with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive and excel in the world. The impact of our joint efforts will continue to ripple through generations, leaving a positive mark on the lives of these children and the communities they are part of.

A Wave of Support Amidst the Pakistan Floods

While education remains our primary focus, we recognise that life sometimes presents unexpected challenges. In response to the devastating floods in Pakistan, we felt compelled to extend our hand. Through our donation to UNICEF, which was among the first organisations to respond to the crisis, we ensured that life-saving supplies reached those in distress, offering them hope and support during this difficult time. We hope that our contribution helped to alleviate the immediate suffering of affected communities. We believe that our prompt actions towards any kind of support, wherever it is needed, echo our core values of compassion and solidarity and deepen our commitment to shaping a better future for all.

Nurturing Future Generations in Nepal

Together with our partners, we’ve touched lives across multiple countries, bringing education, sustainability, and hope to communities in need. We’re thrilled to announce our latest project in Nepal which has witnessed some delay due to the pandemic. The new initiative alongside Dubai Cares and other partners is focused on promoting education and literacy in rural communities. By adopting a three-classroom primary school, equipping it with furniture and gender-specific latrines, and offering training to numerous teachers, the Knowledge E Foundation will be assisting around 90 students.

Additionally, the project reaches out to women from indigenous rural communities, providing approximately 40 women with access to adult education and literacy classes. This initiative empowers the community to actively engage in school construction and capacity-building programmes. By involving locals from the outset, it nurtures a sense of ownership and autonomy and ensures that communities are equipped to run the schools independently in the future, leading to long-term success.
