Speakers

Caryn Anderson

As Training and Strategy Expert at Knowledge E, Caryn Anderson is a senior consultant and educator focused on scientific research quality and impact, knowledge and information services, and interdisciplinary research collaboration. She is Associate Editor of Library and Information Science Research and a Fulbright Specialist. She has published on knowledge management, the global research environment, cross-disciplinary research, information synthesis, and the socio-technical aspects of big data analytics and use.

For over 20 years, Caryn has leveraged her cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary skills to develop human capital and strengthen organisational capacity, effectiveness, and cooperation in higher education, libraries, nonprofits, and governments, especially in developing countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Asia-Pacific.

Emily Choynowski

Dr Emily Paterson-Morgan joined Knowledge E in March 2020 as Senior Editor for KnE Publishing and is now appointed as the Head of KnE Publishing. Providing editorial guidance and strategic oversight for the publishing division, she is developing the portfolio of publishing services, cementing new partnerships, and offering bespoke consultations and coaching on journal management.

She is also a recognised literary scholar, with a PhD in Religion and Nineteenth-Century Literature from the University of Bristol, in the UK. She is Director of The Byron Society and, in addition to The Byron Journal, is Digital Editor for the British Association of Romanticism Studies and sits on Editorial Boards for Liverpool University Press in the United Kingdom and Anthem Press in the USA.

Mohamad Mostafa

Mohamad Mostafa is the Publishing Editor for Knowledge E’s publishing division. He holds a BSc. in Physics from Menoufia University, Egypt. Mohamad has extensive experience of the academic publishing sector, with a particular focus on Open Access, and his expertise is reflected in his position as the Crossref Ambassador for the region. In addition to working closely with Crossref, he also collaborates with ORCID to create their dedicated Arabic interface for the Middle East, and is a regular presenter for both organisations. Finally, during his time working for Knowledge E, Mohamad launched a special initiative to help researchers avoid predatory conferences and identify reputable events to present their papers at. “Think. Check. Attend.” is the sister-initiative of “Think. Check. Submit.”, a cross-industry initiative combatting predatory publishing.
