Knowledge E gives hope to children in Cambodia through the power of education

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 20th April, 2020 – Knowledge E in partnership with Dubai Cares, the UAE-based global philanthropic organisation, will be constructing a community based school this year in Cambodia that is set to benefit around 200 children. As part of Knowledge E’s pledge to adopt a school per year until 2020, over the past two years, it has teamed up with Dubai Cares to build two community-based schools in Malawi and Senegal respectively, providing education to over 210 students.

The new school facility in Cambodia will be provided with furniture, books, and other educational materials along with a water well and latrine that will benefit the local community as well. Knowledge E will also sponsor the recruitment and training of two community teachers and provide them with all basic accommodation needs. The school will be sustained by Knowledge E for one year, after which it will move to Dubai Cares’ partner school funding model. The safety of staff on site will be diligently monitored to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

We are excited to be a part of another important project with Dubai Cares. Access to quality education is a fundamental right for every child, and we are committed to removing barriers in learning. In previous initiatives, the effort we put forth in providing access to education made a tangible and powerful impact. We will continue to transform children’s lives, improve and empower their communities, and assist in amplifying their voices.” – Founder and CEO, Knowledge E, Kamran R. Kardan

Commenting on Knowledge E’s generous contribution HE Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Cares and Member of its Board of Directors said: “We are once again thankful to Knowledge E for its generosity and commitment towards supporting the education of underprivileged and vulnerable children in Cambodia. Education is an essential asset in cultivating stability and peace in any community. It imparts the community with knowledge, reduces poverty, and helps communities to flourish. Through the construction of this school in Cambodia, we are building safe and secure classrooms, so that children can focus on their learning, and have a promising and thriving future.
