Knowledge E Teams up with Dubai Cares for the Construction of a Primary School in Senegal

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 27th March 2019 – For the second consecutive year, Knowledge E has teamed up with Dubai Cares to support its “Adopt a School” initiative. Through this partnership, a community-based primary school that will accommodate a total of approximately 60 students and 60 men and women for adult literacy and employ 2 teachers will be built. Knowledge E’s pledge is to support a school per year until 2020 as part of Dubai Cares ‘Adopt a School’ initiative.

Kamran R. Kardan, Knowledge E’s CEO said “We are proud and excited to embark on another project with Dubai Cares to support education in the areas most in need. Last year, we had a first-hand eye-opening experience in Malawi, seeing the tremendous impact of such initiative on the communities. We will continue to support education as part of our vision towards ‘a more knowledgeable world’”.

Commenting on Knowledge E’s generous contribution, Abdulla Ahmed Al Shehhi, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Cares, said “We are very grateful to Knowledge E for their continuous support and for partnering with us in this noble cause. Knowledge E’s contribution is instrumental to our global vision to break the cycle of poverty through education. Through Dubai Cares’ “Adopt a School” initiative, our aim is to strive together to empower children and young people by ensuring that their future is enriched with opportunities for growth and progress”.

It is estimated that approximately 38% of Senegal’s Out-Of-School-Children (OOSC) are between the ages of 7 and 14 years. The-out-of-school children rates for children from rural areas (49%) are higher than those for children in urban areas (21%) reiterating the urgency and importance of schools in Senegal.
